Hitashi is a self-confessed “softie” at heart and takes her roles of a doting mother, dedicated wife, fashionista and a caring friend very seriously.
While a sense of balance is important, she is also not the one to accept any compromises in life.
Her passion for high couture has taken the form of her own design label “StylePitara by Hitashi Jain”, and is all about trendy Indo-western clothing.

Q. Tell us about StylePitara
A. I started StylePitara in 2018 from my home in South Mumbai. I have always been interested in fashion and love experimenting with clothes. This led to the idea of then showcasing my designs at exhibitions and trade shows. Initial response was encouraging, which led me to jump into fashion design full time.
I am actually a post graduate in business management and do not have any formal training in fashion. But my passion for great looking clothes made me come back to this field time and again. StylePitara was finally born out of my love for fashion.
Q. Fashion is a crowded market, with numerous big and small labels. How do you differentiate yourself?
A. Our offerings are mainly in indo western styles, young and trendy - and we limit ourselves to small and medium sizes. We differentiate through design selection and quality, which again is influenced by what I like to wear. Luckily, our customers have taken well to what StylePitara offers and we have managed to build a loyal base.
Lastly, if we can come up with new designs on a regular basis and at a reasonable price, our job is done.
Q. What is your aspiration for StylePitara?
A. Presence, presence and more presence !!! Currently, we are available only through Instagram, but over the next 5-10 years I want to take this label to traditional retail across metros. I want StylePitara to be known for its high quality and affordable pricing.
Q. Tell us about how your design sensibilities influence you when you decorate your home? Any tips for our readers on decorating a new house?
A. I feel that your own personality dictates your fashion sense and your own home design. What you want to see in yourself is what you would see in your fashion and your home. In short, they are a reflection of your own self. So keep your house simple and yet trendy and stylish.
